ORION | For the benefit of all

By bringing together different stakeholders and developing innovative tools, the ORION project is helping to protect water quality and ensure a healthy environment for all. This meets a strong societal demand for the preservation of our living environment.

Local public authorities

The ORION project is developing innovative methods for diagnosing and predicting the quality of aquatic environments. These approaches are very useful for environmental organisations, managers of aquatic environments and direct users of water, such as drinking water producers, naturalist associations and fishing companies.

Regional public authorities

Wastewater managers, such as conurbations, also benefit from the ORION project. The new methods and tools developed help to better manage wastewater discharges and protect water quality.

Higher education and research institutions

The knowledge generated by the ORION project will be incorporated into the teaching programmes of the participating universities. This will help to train students, including through research, and prepare future environmental professionals.

General public

The ORION project provides data and tools that meet the expectations of the general public regarding the quality of their environment. The information produced by the project is useful for various activities, such as leisure activities and drinking water consumption, and helps to raise awareness of the importance of preserving our water resources.
